but first…

changes…
recently i got some news about my current job (i am a spanish teacher! yeah, not certain that i have shared that info before. i didn’t want this to turn into a soapbox about the ups and downs of teaching life.) i am being down sized after 14yrs of teaching. i was very upset and saddened by this for a long time. i has taken me a bit to come to terms with it. you see, teaching is all i have ever wanted to do. the last few years it has become terribly frustrating but i still love me school and my students very much. i thought that i would be here, well…forever. or at least until i was ready to retire. but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.
i am thinking about opening an online store. full of goodies that i make, sew, stitch, knit or design. i have been reading up on what it entails. it seems like a lot of work (why does it look so effortless for everyone?). i like work; the part that worries me is whether it is a viable option. there are so many craft shops online as it is. is there room for another one? who knows.
starting next monday, i am going to open up a page to Sneeverville’s General Store. it will be very informal for awhile. stop in. browse. leave a comment about what you want with contact info. i will get with you for more your information (like your address). payment will be through paypal (if i can make that work. ha.) if i can make enough money i can open it up as a secure site that can take all you info at a click of the button. i will let you know through the blog on when more items are added to the page.
i hope that i can make a decent living off of this. it really would be a dream job. but i still have some logistics to work out too.
wish me luck as i try to pull this all together and see where it leads.
